Meteors take 2-0 second round series lead after weekend wins

It was a weekend of wins for the Fort Erie Meteors.

The Jr. B squad has taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the second round of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs, facing off against the Caledonia Corvairs on Saturday and Sunday.

Opening the series, the Meteors won 4-2 on home ice at the Leisureplex on Saturday after being down 2-1 at the end of the first period.

Chris Reid and Kyle Adamo each scored for the Meteors and Rylan Masterson netted a pair of goals.

Sunday’s game was a 3-0 win with all the scoring taking place in the third period.

Chris Reid, Aiden Zimmerman, and Tate Donald had goals for the win.

Goalie John Lloyd recorded the shutout.

Game three is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Leisureplex and game four is in Caledonia on Wednesday.

If necessary, game five will be played in Fort Erie Saturday at 7 p.m.
