Delivery driver charged in crash at Nigh and Burleigh roads

Police have charged a Mississauga man with careless driving after they say he drove a delivery van through a stop sign and into a passenger vehicle at Nigh and Burleigh roads in Ridgeway on Saturday.
The 32-year-old was heading south on Burleigh Road at about 1:35 p.m. when his van entered the intersection and struck an eastbound vehicle on Nigh Road, Niagara Regional Police told Fort Erie Radio.
Police said minor injuries from the crash were treated at the scene, and nothing suggested either vehicle was travelling at high speed.
Stop signs at the intersection control only northbound and southbound traffic on Burleigh Road, police said, so drivers on Nigh Road cross without stopping.
Saturday’s crash is the only collision at the intersection in police records for 2026. Police said they have no data on how many complaints the service has received about the crossing.
