Road repairs create temporary delays near Black Creek Bridge

Drivers are seeing brief slowdowns along Cairns Crescent and the Niagara Parkway as Niagara Parks crews repair damaged roadway sections south of Black Creek Bridge.
The two-week maintenance project is part of Niagara Parks’ regular capital work to keep Fort Erie roads safe. Locals may notice lane restrictions until November 7 but no full closures are planned.

Flaggers are directing alternating traffic through single open lanes while crews complete repairs. Access to nearby homes and businesses remains open throughout the work.
Marcelo Gruosso, chief operating officer for Niagara Parks, told Fort Erie Radio by email that “temporary lane restrictions will be in place” while the work is taking place, but “full road closures are not anticipated.”
The project is covered by Niagara Parks’ own capital budget.
“As a self-funded agency, this work is part of the capital budget for Niagara Parks, which is funded through our earned revenue and does not rely on tax dollars,” added Gruosso.
Niagara Parks said crews will take steps to limit dust and noise during construction.
Updates on road repairs and maintenance are available through the Niagara Parks website.
