Work taking place at multiple spots along QEW this week

Motorists on the Queen Elizabeth Way may experience slow traffic and delays this week due to roadwork.

According to Ontario 511, the province’s website for traffic information, there are several spots in Niagara along the highway where work is taking place.

Recurring maintenance is happening at Mountain Road in both directions but is scheduled to conclude at the end of this week.

A recurring engineering investigation between Central Avenue and Gilmore Road returns Monday with plans to be wrapped up Friday, according to the list of roadwork projects on Ontario 511.

Toronto bound at Ontario Street there is recurring maintenance in both directions until January 17, says the website.

At Sixteen Mile Creek in Lincoln there will be roadwork Toronto bound.

Fort Erie-bound lanes will be affected between Welland and Glendale avenues in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Delays can also be expected on Highway 406 in the area of Westchester and Fourth avenues in St. Catharines, both ways.

There is also a recurring engineering investigation on Highway 405 westbound at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge and Stanley Avenue.
