Work scheduled at four locations on QEW in Niagara this week

There will be four spots along the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Niagara this week where motorists can expect delays due to work taking place, and two of those locations are in Fort Erie.

According to Ontario 511, the province’s traffic information website, an engineering investigation will begin Wednesday at Bertie Street and Thompson Road, causing a closure of the right Toronto-bound lane.

Another engineering investigation is also scheduled to start Tuesday, Toronto bound at Gilmore Road.

At the far west end of the region, there is work taking place starting Monday at the Lincoln-Grimsby border, recurring maintenance between Victoria and Bartlett avenues.

Two left Fort Erie-bound lanes will be closed between Casablanca Boulevard and Maple Avenue in Grimsby due to construction, also beginning Monday, according to Ontario 511.

There is no other work taking place on highways in Niagara, other than what is scheduled for the QEW.
