Construction taking place this week on highways in Niagara

The QEW will again be a busy place this week for Fort Erie commuters.

Work continues in both directions between Victoria Avenue in Lincoln and Christie Street/Lakeview Avenue in Grimsby.

In Fort Erie, there will be a lane closure at the Fort Erie-bound off-ramp at Central Avenue, according to Ontario 511, the province’s traffic information website.

Work is also scheduled to take place between Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Street in St. Catharines.

There will be Fort Erie-bound lane closures all week between Sandplant Hill in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Mountain Road in Niagara Falls.

Construction will continue between Gilmore Road in Fort Erie and Baker Road in Niagara Falls, Toronto-bound.

The Fort Erie-bound off-ramp at Highway 420 will be closed, starting Monday.

There will be Toronto-bound closures between Lundy’s Lane and Highway 420 in Niagara Falls as well.

Northbound lane closures will result from work scheduled on Highway 406 between the QEW and Third Avenue in St. Catharines.

Between the Westchester Avenue overpass and Glendale Avenue, southbound, work is taking place on Highway 406.

Work is set to continue on Highway 58 between Pine Street and Thorold Stone Road/Davis Road.

On Highway 405, there is recurring maintenance, both directions, between the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge and Stanley Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Construction is also taking place between Stanley Avenue and the QEW on Highway 405.
