Violent night: Meteors settle the score in St. Catharines

58 minutes of penalties were awarded at the Seymour-Hannah S.E.C. Arena last night as the Meteors triumphed 5-2 over the Falcons.

Rookie wonder Hunter Coley scored two power play goals for the Meteors. Last night’s performance puts Coley tied with Assistant Captain Kyle Adamo for top goal scorer for Fort Erie in the post season.

Adamo stayed off the scoreboard but still found himself in the penalty box, adding up to a total of 22 minutes in the sin bin so far these playoffs.

Liam Beamish picked up another goal this game and an assist, bringing his point-scoring streak to five games in a row.

While the Meteors served a combined 18 minutes in the penalty box, St. Catharines were no saints. The Falcons served a whopping 40 minutes in the box, helped by multiple 10-minute misconducts for head contact from Calvin Petrovsky and Luke Gualtieri.

The second period ended with a bang with Fort Erie Captain Rylan Masterson and Falcon Brenden Anderson taking penalties after the buzzer for roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct.

In the end, Fort Erie out shot St. Catharines 39 to 22 and are coming home victorious with the series tied at 1-1.
