Red Swan opens on Garrison Road with ribbon cutting and free pizza

A new pizzeria opened its doors in Fort Erie Monday as Red Swan Pizza held a grand opening and ribbon cutting at 315 Garrison Road. Hundreds of customers lined up to take advantage of promotional deals and sample the new location’s offerings.

In a social media post on Wednesday, the Town of Fort Erie congratulated Red Swan Pizza on celebrating its “official ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony,” noting that “hundreds of free pizzas also made many stomachs happy and a very long lineup.”

The post encouraged residents to visit the new outlet, which features the chain’s “signature dough and fresh, locally inspired toppings.”

Among the dignitaries in attendance for the ribbon cutting on Monday were Mayor Wayne Redekop, Councillors George McDermott and Nick Dubanow, and MP Fred Davies.

To mark the Fort Erie launch, Red Swan offered its first 100 guests a free 8-inch pepperoni or Canadian veggie pizza. The next 300 customers were eligible for 8-inch pizzas at progressively low prices: $0.95 for the second 100, $1.95 for the third 100, and $2.95 for the fourth 100.

Fort Erie Radio’s own midday host Steve Simkus was in attendance, who reported seeing a long “lineup of people waiting for free pizza…at least 50 during the ribbon cutting.”

Red Swan was founded in 2013 in Saskatchewan and has since expanded to more than 150 locations across six Canadian provinces. The company says on its website it emphasizes “exceptional service, high-quality food and unbeatable value” while staying Canadian-owned and operated.

By opening in Fort Erie, the Garrison Road location joins a growing roster of Ontario and national outlets. Earlier in 2025, the chain also opened a location in Bolton, Ont.

The new Fort Erie pizzeria is now accepting orders.
