Motorcyclist injured in hit-and-run on Dominion Road in Fort Erie

A driver fled the scene after striking a motorcyclist at the corner of Dominion Road and Albert Street in Fort Erie on Wednesday afternoon.
The motorcyclist was heading east on Dominion Road around 4:15 p.m. when a red vehicle travelling south on Albert Street hit the motorcycle, according to Niagara Regional Police.
Police told Fort Erie Radio the motorcycle’s driver suffered minor injuries. Investigators gave no make or model for the red vehicle and did not say which way it fled.
The crash was the third collision involving a motorcycle on Dominion Road this month.
On September 6, a white Nissan SUV collided with a red Harley-Davidson three-wheeled motorcycle at Helena Street and Dominion Road. Both people on the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital outside the region.
Niagara police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) took over the September 6 investigation and closed the Helena Street intersection for about two and a half hours. Police did not call the CRU to Wednesday’s crash at Albert Street.
A motorcycle with a passenger aboard collided with another vehicle on Dominion Road just east of Kraft Road days later. No one suffered serious injuries in the Kraft Road crash, police said at the time.
Police said the causes of both earlier crashes remained under investigation. Investigators asked anyone with dash camera footage from the Dominion Road area to contact them.
