Meteors welcome first place Falcons at Leisureplex on Saturday

With six games remaining in the regular season, the Fort Erie Jr. B Meteors are sitting in third place and have already clinched a playoff spot.

The next home game is Saturday when the first place St. Catharines Falcons visit the Leisureplex for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

After 43 games, the Meteors have won 28 games, lost 10, and earned one point with an overtime loss five times.

In second place in the eastern conference are the Ayr Centennials with 65 points, three points behind St. Catharines with 68.

The Meteors have 61 points, two ahead of their Highway 3 rivals the Port Colborne Sailors.

Leading the team in offence is Sam Tonelli with 61 points (28 goals, 33 assists), Kyle Adamo with 46 points (21 goals, 25 assists).

Jack Ryan, listed as injured on the Meteors’ website, has 42 points (29 goals, 13 assists).

Finn Moffett and John Lloyd have been a tandem between the pipes, splitting the duties in net.

They have a combined goals against average of 2.20.
