Fort Erie Tennis Club ready to serve all skill levels for another season

The Fort Erie Tennis Club (FETC) is ready to hit the court for another season.

A total of six courts, in fact.

Located at 353 Central Avenue, there is plenty of programming running until October for children and players of all skill levels, says the club’s website.

“Whether you’re new to the sport or you’ve been playing for years, you’ll feel right at home at the Fort Erie Tennis Club,” it says.

In addition to open play, the club runs junior programs in the spring and summer to introduce youth ages five and up to the sport.

All programs are led by instructors accredited by the Tennis Professionals Association, under the guidance of head tennis instructor Lucas Trombley.

“We’re committed to helping young players develop a love for tennis and keep building their skills,” says the club on its website.

The official season runs from May to October with lessons and clinics, tournaments, social events, as well as league and inter-club play and “cardio tennis.”

For juniors, lessons are offered Monday and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m.

Missed lessons due to weather will be moved to Fridays. The cost is $150. No equipment is necessary as the club provides racquets and balls, says the website.

FETC was founded in 1986 by a dedicated group of local tennis enthusiasts.

It is a not-for-profit organization collaboratively guided by volunteers within its membership.

The club is a proud member of the Ontario Tennis Association and South Western Association of Tennis.
