The Fort Erie Race Track has come out of the gate with a successful season so far.
This includes a massive crowd and a significant boost in betting on Father’s Day on Sunday.

There was a capacity crowd of 10,000 people with wagering adding up to $1.32 million, which is up 14.6 per cent compared to Father’s Day last year, track spokesperson James Culic told Fort Erie Radio.
On the track, ICON Racing Stables had a huge three-win day, including the Longrun Thoroughbred Retirement stakes race where trainer Tony Adamo took Garofoli to the winner’s circle with jockey Juan Crawford.
As well, Amanda Vandermeersch rode Trevess to win the Longrun Thoroughbred After Care stakes race for trainer John Simms and owner Deborah Fletcher.

The next big events at the race track are the free concert by The Tragically Trip on June 30 leading into Canada Day Racing on July 1.
