Robert Carpenter, who works in transportation, won the windfall on Instant Crossword Deluxe, a 10-dollar ticket he bought at Canadian Tire Gas+ on Garrison Road, said the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) in a news release.
“I was at the gas station paying for fuel when I decided to pick up two instant tickets. I headed to a nearby restaurant to grab a bite and play my tickets,” he said in the OLG release.
“I didn’t win anything on the first ticket. On the second, I matched quite a few words, so I returned to the gas station to verify what I won,” he added.
He has plans to build a garage and help his kids invest for retirement.
