Construction continues on Niagara highways this week

Roadwork on Niagara highways will continue to impact Fort Erie commuters this week.

For several weeks, there have been one-lane closures in both directions on the QEW between Gilmore Road and Baker Road in Niagara Falls.

This work is continuing this week, according to Ontario 511, the province’s website for traffic information.

There will also be construction on the QEW between the Garden City Skyway and Highway 406, resulting in lane reductions, says Ontario 511.

There is also recurring construction on the QEW between Highway 406 and Seventh Street in St. Catharines.

Highway 3 between Nigh and Holloway Bay roads at the Fort Erie-Port Colborne border continues to be a construction zone, as it has been since late last month.

Work will also continue at the Thorold Tunnel, impacting southbound traffic.
