Bloom into spring this Saturday with maker’s market at The Mill

With the vivid colours of freshly blooming daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths generally comes the anticipation of planning the summer garden.

And The Mill Greenhouses Ridgeway (2594 Dominion Rd.) has a great way of luring Fort Erie residents out of winter hibernation with their maker’s market, scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Doors open at 9 a.m. and shoppers can expect to be wowed by over 25 vendors, with creations ranging from crochet, jewelry, pottery, stained glass, and so much more.

Food trucks will be keeping customers properly nourished, so they have the energy to explore the enormous addition to the greenhouse completed last year. Utilizing the size of the new space allows the event to be indoors so it is not weather-dependent.

Anyone bringing a non-perishable food item or a donation of $2 will receive a ticket for a door prize, with all proceeds donated to local charities and food banks.

Owners Adam and Diana Sneek are looking forward to hosting their first market as a way of branching out beyond their planting workshops, and sharing their space with local artisans as a way to give back to the community that has supported them through the years.

Potter Katelynn Weldon, owner of A Raven and a Writing Desk, is excited to be a part of the market, and “loves the idea of bringing the small creative businesses together in such a beautiful indoor spot.”

This is also a great opportunity for vendors to move their online sales into a face-to-face scenario, which helps build community through connection.

A complete list of vendors and food trucks can be found on The Mill’s social media pages.
