Join the ‘Ridgeway Rocks’ downtown cleanup for a brighter community

Jennifer McCready proudly loves Ridgeway.

“I am a huge fan of Ridgeway and I just love it,” she said.

After seeing a post about a successful clean drive in Crystal Beach, the owner of Lady Luck Photography Studio (296 Ridge Rd. N) was inspired to gather a team and make a difference in Ridgeway.

“They do one every year,” she noted. “I thought, Ridgeway needs this. With our busy season on the horizon, let’s come together to ensure our town sparkles.”

She added, “I went with my gut and jumped in to get it going.”

Her friend, Michelle Gaudet, owner of Inspired Travel Adventures, was quickly on board.

The cleanup is scheduled for May 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. until noon with everyone meeting at the Village Square to start, where The Frugal Dutchman (304 Ridge Rd. N) will be handing out garbage bags.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves or picker tools. Water will be provided, and Frydaze Chip Shack (356 Ridge Rd. N) will be giving a small fry to everyone who joins and helps with the clean up.

McCready said people are encouraged to dress up to make the event more fun.

The aim for the first event is just the downtown area, but could expand based on the level of support it receives.

McCready said she hopes the event becomes an annual tradition.

“Let’s make a lasting impact.”
