Thousands of spectators will head to Stevensville during the Civic Holiday long weekend to lasso a good time.
The RAM Rodeo Ontario tour will once again be set up at Montasola Farms on Stevensville Road from August 1 to 4 for a full schedule of events each day, including live music, pole bending, barrel racing, cattle sorting, and rodeo performances.
The Ontario tour has been coming to Stevensville for about five years, RAM Rodeo president Ross Millar told Fort Erie Radio in an interview Wednesday.
“They have great facilities for our horses and animals,” he added.

The tour has been happening for close to three decades and has a 16-event schedule running until the third week of October, and the Stevensville event is the seventh stop on this year’s program.
“We’re enjoying one of the best years we’ve had in 28 years,” said Millar.
He estimates 1,500 to 2,000 people will come through for the Stevensville visit.
“Economically, it’s challenging times for people, but it’s priced properly for families,” he noted as a factor in the large turnouts they see.
Competitors come from Ontario, as well as Quebec and the eastern United States.
Although not a regular occurrence, Millar said some events are met with protestors and animal rights activists.
“We have an open-book policy with the Ontario SPCA and their inspectors,” he said, adding his organization has “never had a citation” in 28 years of operation.
The grounds open at 4 p.m. on August 1 and at 11 a.m. on August 2 and 3. The action starts at 10 a.m. on August 4.
