Peace Bridge to remain steady as other Niagara crossings increase rates

The Peace Bridge will not see toll increases this spring, even as rates are set to rise at three other Niagara River border crossings beginning May 1.
The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission has approved toll hikes for the Rainbow, Whirlpool-Rapids and Queenston-Lewiston bridges to support infrastructure improvements and ongoing maintenance.
The increases apply to most vehicle classes, including passenger vehicles, RVs, motorcycles and commercial trucks.
For passenger vehicles paying cash, tolls will increase from $6.50 to $8.50.
ExpressPass and NEXUS users will pay $8.50, up from $6.50.
Commercial vehicles will face increases depending on the number of axles; for example, a standard five-axle truck’s toll will rise from $42.00 to $48.50.
Motorcycles will see tolls rise from $6.50 to $8.50 regardless of payment method.
The new rates mark the first toll adjustments at these three crossings since 2019.
The Peace Bridge, which is operated separately by the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, is not included in the upcoming toll changes.
