Niagara Transit seeking feedback through survey, public engagement

Niagara Region Transit is seeking feedback from residents about its network and how connections are made across the peninsula.

There is an online survey as well as 15 in-person public engagement sessions, one of them being held in Fort Erie at the Leisureplex on January 30 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The invitation has to do with the second phase of Niagara Transit’s Facilities, Strategic Asset and Service Network Master Plan.

Participants can review four proposed network options.

Each of the four proposed network options offers a different approach to improving transit connectivity and service efficiency, with consideration given to hours of service, frequency, route coverage and affordability, reads a news release.

Residents can access the proposals and share their thoughts through the ‘Exploring Possibilities’ survey at nrtransit.ca before February 14 or by attending one of the sessions being held.

“Our community’s voices are at the heart of this plan. The feedback we receive will help us create a transit network that connects people, supports growth, and enhances quality of life across Niagara,” said Niagara Transit Commission general manager Carla Stout.

“Public participation in our Master Plan is essential to shaping a vibrant, efficient network that will serve the region for decades to come,” she added.
