Fort Erie commuters can expect lane closures on QEW this week

It appears the holidays are over for construction crews as a number of projects are set to be taking place on highways in Niagara.
It has been a slow couple of weeks, but according to Ontario 511, there is a fair amount of work taking place this week.
On the Queen Elizabeth Way, work is taking place Toronto bound at Highway 405 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, starting Monday and continuing until January 25.
There is also recurring maintenance at Sixteen Mile Creek in Lincoln, affecting Toronto-bound lanes.
There is also work at the Garden City Skyway in both directions and is planned to occur until January 25 as well.
In the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 406 between Fourth and Westchester avenues, there will be recurring maintenance. This work doesn’t begin until Sunday, January 12.
At Highway 58 between Pine Street and the Thorold Tunnel, there will be southbound lane closures starting Friday.
