Happy Jack’s open Christmas Day as town facilities take a holiday break

At least one Fort Erie establishment will open its doors for people to gather on Christmas Day.
For about 10 years, Happy Jack’s, a popular Chinese restaurant on Niagara Parkway, has been welcoming customers on December 25.
“For some people, it’s the only day they can get together,” said co-owner Jack Chew, who runs the family business with his brothers Alvin and Jeff.

It’s also a chance for the siblings to spend the holiday with one another, he said.
He expects the day will be “very busy” and said reservations are “highly recommended.”
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and serving Christmas turkey dinners in addition to their full menu.
The Town of Fort Erie also provided Fort Erie Radio with a list of its holiday hours.
The Leisureplex and Crystal Ridge Arena will be closed December 25 and 26, as well as January 1.
Those facilities will be open for a half day on December 24 and 31.
All Fort Erie Public Library branches will be closed December 24, 25, and 26, as well as January 1, according to the library’s website.
