Holiday smile cookies bring in close to $6,900 for Community Living

Community Living Fort Erie has a few thousand reasons to smile.

The non-profit organization announced this week that its share of the Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign was close to $6,900, benefitting its inclusive summer camp.

The total campaign, hosted by Fort Erie’s four Tim Hortons locations for a week last month, brought in $13,757, which was split between Community Living and the Tim Hortons Camp Foundation.

“The summer camp program provides children with diverse abilities the opportunity to participate in safe, engaging, and inclusive activities during the summer months, fostering skill development and a sense of belonging,” Community Living Fort Erie said in a news release.

“By partnering with existing summer camp programs in our community we are able to provide the staffing supports so that all children can participate,” the news release continues.

“This year’s campaign was a testament to the community spirit in Fort Erie, with over 9,000 Smile Cookies decorated by dedicated volunteers and sold by enthusiastic supporters.”

The overwhelming generosity of local residents, alongside the commitment of Tim Hortons franchisees and staff, made this initiative a “resounding success,” said the non-profit’s news release.

“Community Living Fort Erie expresses its gratitude to everyone who participated in the campaign. The funds raised will have a lasting impact, helping to create meaningful experiences for children and families in the community.”
