Ridgeway entrepreneur nominated for Women in Business award

A local business owner and resident is “flattered” to be nominated for a Women in Business Award hosted by the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.

Andréa Jones, who is also a Fort Erie Radio host, has been nominated in the entrepreneurship category.

The 35-year-old is a social media and marketing expert who works with Niagara businesses to brush up online skills and presence.

She recently held a retreat to teach the value of artificial intelligence.

“It’s going to be very integrated into everything we do,” said Jones, who started her venture OnlineDrea about 10 years ago, around the same time she relocated to Fort Erie from the Greater Toronto Area.

Jones is joined by Jessica Lutomski, Stephanie Lakeit-Hall, Sharon Green, Melissa Achal, and Katie Sawicki in their category.

“I’m honoured to have my name submitted alongside so many other amazing business owners in the area,” Jones said in an interview with Fort Erie Radio.

Jones said she loves being an entrepreneur and doing what she does because it allows her to balance work with being a mother to two young children.

Asked about what advice she has for young and aspiring entrepreneurs, Jones said “find something you’re passionate about” and figure out “how you can integrate your life into it.”

The awards ceremony will be held at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel on November 21.
