UPDATE | One suspect still at large after vape shop break-in

UPDATE | April 30, 2026 @ 3:23 p.m.: Police say one person has been arrested in connection with the break-in, while a second suspect remains outstanding.

Police say the accused meets the definition of a young offender, and their image has been removed from police and social media platforms.

The image of the second suspect has also been removed as a precaution.

ORIGINAL STORY | April 30, 2026 @ 2:28 p.m.: Niagara Regional Police say two suspects are being sought following a break-in at a vape shop in Fort Erie earlier this week.

Officers from 5 District responded Tuesday to a report of a belated break and enter at a Peters Vape Shop on Gilmore Road.

Police say the incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, when two unknown suspects entered the store, stole cash and vape products, and fled.

The first suspect is described as white, wearing a brown toque, black face covering, black hoodie with writing and heart graphics, red and black gloves, black pants, black boots and a black backpack with brown trim.

The second suspect is described as white, wearing a black and purple Toronto Raptors hoodie with the hood up, black pants, black slides with a white Nike logo and grey socks.

Detectives are continuing the investigation and are asking residents and businesses in the area to review security footage recorded between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on April 28.
