Siltech Corporation officially cut the ribbon on its new Pettit Road plant Tuesday, marking the arrival of a $100 million investment to create jobs and grow Fort Erie’s manufacturing base.

The new 210,000-square-foot plant will produce silicone-based materials and is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2026.
Construction has been progressing at 1700 Pettit Road, where the company began erecting steel in March. Siltech, a family-owned Canadian manufacturer of specialty silicones, chose Fort Erie for its access to major transportation routes and the U.S. border.
“Siltech is excited to be building in Fort Erie. We are a proud Canadian company and look forward to many years of growth in this community,” said Dag Enhorning, president, when construction of the facility began in 2023.
Project Manager Mark Marynowicz told Fort Erie Radio on Wednesday that initial staffing is expected to include 25 to 30 employees, with potential growth to 50 or more as production scales up.
The province supported the project through the Regional Development Program, contributing $5 million toward construction.
For residents, the plant means skilled jobs and a stronger local tax base. Recruitment is expected to begin once interior work nears completion in early 2026.
The company plans to engage with the town on environmental and community partnerships once operations are underway.
