Town reminds residents that overnight winter parking ban in effect

With snow and flurries in the forecast this coming week, the Town of Fort Erie is reminding residents that overnight winter parking restrictions are in effect, prohibiting parking on town streets between 2 and 7 a.m. daily through March 31.
Under the town’s overnight winter parking bylaw, vehicles left on municipal roads during these hours may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
In a post to Facebook on Friday, town staff noted that the current fine for violating the restriction is $40.
“When parking in driveways please ensure your vehicle is not blocking the sidewalk,” the post continues.
Keeping streets clear allows town crews to maintain safe road conditions throughout the winter months and supports efficient snow-removal efforts, says the town.
Full details on parking regulations and winter operations are available on the Town of Fort Erie website.
