The Manic Maker hosts Easter fundraiser with photos and raffle

The Manic Maker on Jarvis Street will host an Easter fundraiser that includes a children’s colouring contest prize draw, $5 Easter Bunny photos and a charity raffle, with proceeds supporting low-income Niagara mothers.
The event will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Manic Maker and forms part of a broader day of Easter activities planned in Bridgeburg on March 28. The fundraiser combines several community activities organized by local businesses to support No Bare Bums Niagara, a charity that provides diapers, formula and other basic supplies to mothers who need assistance.
Xpert Painting and Wallpapering and Sprout Business Builders organized the colouring contest and charity activities. The Manic Maker is hosting the prize draw and providing space for the event.
Dana Nadeau, owner of The Manic Maker, told Fort Erie Radio that parents can receive their raffle tickets through a QR code on colouring sheets available at several Bridgeburg businesses including The Manic Maker, Venus Jewellers, Lash + HeadSpa Suite, The Fox Shop, Koko and Jinx and The Black Piano.
Raffle tickets will be sold for a prize basket valued at about $225, with tickets priced at $2 each or six for $10. Nadeau said she preferred to contribute one large prize rather than several small donations to different events.

Credit: Dana Nadeau | The Manic Maker“If you’re going to make an impact, I’d like to make a dent,” she said. “I would rather do a $200 value basket for something like this than give 20 people a $20 gift certificate.”
The basket includes merchandise from The Manic Maker along with items from local makers and retailers.
The fundraiser will also offer digital Easter Bunny portraits. Each photo costs $5, with all proceeds directed to No Bare Bums Niagara.
“I think anybody that’s a small business owner needs to be involved in their community because we are able to coordinate things to actually benefit places like this,” said Nadeau.
Nadeau lives near her shop in Bridgeburg and described the neighbourhood’s small town atmosphere as a key reason she participates in community events.
“I grew up in Toronto in Jane and Finch, which is a notorious area. A lot of people would call it a ghetto. But we had real community back then,” she said. “Everybody took care of everybody. And I think we’ve lost that along the way.”
The March 28 fundraiser is expected to coincide with other Easter activities in Bridgeburg. Local businesses take part in an annual Bunny Hop event where children visit participating shops to collect treats before gathering at a final location to meet the Easter Bunny.
The Fox Shop is also organizing its annual Bridgeburg cleanup on March 21 from noon to 2 p.m.
Volunteers collected more than 800 pounds of garbage during last year’s cleanup. Community members and students from Fort Erie International Academy took part, along with other local residents.
The March 28 fundraiser and related Easter events are open to the public, with raffle tickets and contest entries already circulating through participating Bridgeburg businesses.
