The new manager of the farmers market in Stevensville is eager to get started at the weekly event once the warm weather arrives.
Held on Wednesdays from June 4 to October 8 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Stevensville Memorial Hall, the market’s head honcho is now Kenney Jessop, also a vendor in the past.
The market brings together local businesses, charities, makers, and farmers in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Jessop is excited to see applications already landing in his inbox.
“I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with running a small business,” he said in a news release.
“My goal is to make the market a true gathering place where vendors can thrive, and the community can come together to support local,” he added.
“My goal is to bring community awareness to the wonderful people and programs available in our community,” he said, noting that “if we can make a difference and help give back to the community that supports us, that is a small positive.”
In recognition of the current economic climate, vendor fees for the upcoming season have been reduced to make participation more accessible.
The daily table rate is now $15 per day, a reduction from $25 last season.
The seasonal rate is $150 for the full 16 weeks (less than $10 per week) if paid in full by March 31.
The market continues to receive strong support from the Stevensville Conservation Area, past market managers, and dedicated vendors, said the news release.
Jessop stated that with a renewed focus on community engagement and affordability, the 2025 season promises to be “one of the best yet.”
Vendors and community organizations interested in participating can contact Jessop directly via Facebook Messenger for more information.
