It might be too soon to break out the sunscreen and towels, but it might be time to start thinking about passes for the upcoming season at Bay Beach.

Starting this week, locals can buy their season passes at the Leisureplex from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday, and then again from May 12 to 15 at the same times and location.

Resident season passes are $10 per adult.

Credit and debit cards are accepted and passes are available to any taxpayer and all members of their immediate household; proof of residence is required.

A day pass can be purchased at the Bay Beach main entrance starting May 16, says the Town of Fort Erie, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or until beach capacity is reached.

Day pass fees are five dollars per person Monday through Thursday and $10 per person on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Proof of residency is not required to access Bay Beach with a day pass, and children 12 and under are able to access Bay Beach for free.

Licensed local short-term rental operators can buy commercial season passes for $100 each, which can be used by visitors.
