Ridgeway resident wins $100,000 Lotto Max prize

A Ridgeway resident is planning for retirement after winning $100,000 in a Lotto Max draw.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation says the 70-year-old, who works in the lumber industry, discovered the win while checking his ticket at home one morning.

β€œI scanned it three times on the OLG app, just to be sure,” he said in an OLG news release.

OLG says Arthur collected his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

He plans to share the money with his children and grandchildren, invest for the future and help give his daughter her dream wedding.

β€œIt feels good to win big,” he said. β€œI told my boss I’m retiring in August.”

According to OLG, the winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Killaly Street East in Port Colborne.

OLG says Lotto Max players in Ontario have won more than $9.9 billion since 2009, including 123 jackpot wins and 1,003 MaxMillions prizes.
