QEW work near Gilmore Road expected to be finished Friday

Motorists who use the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) will have noticed construction between Baker Road in Niagara Falls and Gilmore Road in Fort Erie recently.
That work, taking place in both the Fort Erie- and Toronto-bound lanes, is scheduled to be concluded on Friday, according to Ontario 511, a website that tracks planned roadwork.
Work also started Monday on the Toronto-bound QEW between Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Welland Avenue in St. Catharines.
There is also recurring construction on the Fort Erie-bound QEW between Welland Avenue and the Welland River Bridge in Niagara Falls.
Both of these construction zones are scheduled to be cleared by Thursday.
