QEW in Niagara a busy place for construction this week

It will be a busy week for construction on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Niagara.
According to Ontario 511, the province’s traffic information website, one Toronto-bound lane will be closed starting Wednesday at Thorold Stone Road in Niagara Falls.
In both directions between Sandplant Hill Road and Thorold Stone Road, work is taking place starting Tuesday.
One lane will be closed in both directions between Highway 420 and Lyons Creek Road in Niagara Falls all week.
Ongoing work between Martindale Road and Seventh Street will continue this week, as well as construction between Seventh Street and Highway 406, causing a lane closure Fort Erie-bound.
Work also continues between Gilmore Road in Fort Erie and Baker Road in Niagara Falls.
Highway 406 will see some work as well; at the southbound off ramp at St. Davids Road, as well as between Fourth Avenue and East Main Street in Welland, both northbound and southbound.
Highway 58 will also be a busy spot for construction with work occurring northbound at Thorold Stone Road/Davis Road and Pine Street.
Work also continues at the Thorold Tunnel.
