Police seek public’s help identifying shoplifting suspect in Fort Erie

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of shoplifting from a Fort Erie store.

Police said the incident occurred on May 24 and was captured on surveillance camera.

According to investigators, the suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 45 and 55, with a thick build. He was last seen wearing a light-brimmed Toronto Blue Jays hat, a green zip-up sweater, blue jeans, and brown hiking-style shoes.

Police have posted a photo of the suspect at niagarapolice.ca, and the incident has been assigned file number 25-801084.

Members of the public are urged not to approach or attempt to apprehend the individual.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the NRPS by calling (905) 688-4111 and requesting to speak to dispatch.

Fort Erie Radio wishes to remind the public that suspects identified by police are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
