Two Fort Erie residents face a combined nine drug trafficking charges after Niagara Regional Police pulled $11,710 worth of cocaine, fentanyl, crystal meth and hydromorphone off a street nearly Waverly Beach earlier this spring.
Police had been watching a Mississauga Avenue address since April after observing behaviour consistent with drug trafficking at the residence.
A 48-year-old Fort Erie woman was arrested in Welland at 11:40 p.m. on April 28 following a weeks-long joint investigation by the 2 District Street Crime Unit, which covers Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the 5 District Fort Erie Criminal Investigative Branch.
Detectives then applied for and were granted a judicial search warrant for the Mississauga Avenue home. A 53-year-old Fort Erie man was found inside when detectives executed the warrant.
Police seized 44.3 grams of suspected cocaine (valued at $4,400), 35.9 grams of suspected fentanyl ($3,590), 38 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine ($3,040), 34 hydromorphone tablets ($680) and $1,300 in cash.
The female suspect faces six counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
The male suspect faces three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
In July 2025, Niagara Regional Police charged the same 53-year-old with drug trafficking following a search warrant at a Crystal Beach home on Devon Place, where investigators seized 20 grams of fentanyl and 6 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Both attended a bail hearing April 29 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
