Meteors’ offensive stars shine in high-scoring season finale

The Fort Erie Meteors finished the 2024 regular season with a nail-biter against the Hamilton Kilty B’s.

Saturday night started with a bang as the Meteors took a tripping penalty five seconds into the game and then conceded a power play goal at 1:37.

Assistant Captain Kyle Adamo opened up the scoring for the Meteors halfway through the first period to tie the game at 1-1.

Both teams then had a slow second period with only a few shots on goal but one from Hamilton’s Yianni Kaidonis found the back of the net to put Fort Erie behind again.

Hamilton buried another early in the third to bring the score to 3-1 before Chaka-Benjamin Ntumba-Muntu brought the Meteors back within one.

All-star rookie Liam Beamish was able to capitalize on a power play opportunity halfway through the third to tie the game back up again.

Unfortunately, Hamilton’s Anthony Giacalone scored the game-winning goal with 2:25 left in the third. The Meteors pulled the keeper but could not mount the final comeback.

This wraps up a record-breaking season for Fort Erie with this year’s squad winning more games than any Meteors team that came before it. Leading the points ladder was Fort Erie-raised Kyle Adamo who put up an impressive 25 goals and 32 assists for a total of 57 points.

Defenseman and Captain Rylan Masterson also managed to crack the top five with 39 points to his name.
