Kin Club takes over Crystal Beach Supper Market

The Ridgeway-Crystal Beach Kin Club is taking full control of the Crystal Beach Waterfront Supper Market after reaching an agreement with the Crystal Beach Business Improvement Area.

According to a news release from the Kin Club, the service organization will assume responsibility for the market’s operations, management, marketing, advertising, promotion and overall coordination.

The two organizations have worked together on the weekly summer event for several years, with the Business Improvement Area overseeing the market and the Kin Club playing an increasingly prominent role.

Dan Strugar, president of the Ridgeway-Crystal Beach Kin Club, has served as event manager on behalf of the Business Improvement Area for the past two years.

“This is an event that has become a very special part of our community,” Strugar said in the release.

Strugar said the club plans to maintain the existing format while looking for ways to grow the event and expand its Charity of the Week program.

The Kin Club operates the market’s licensed bar, with profits directed to local charities and community organizations.

Fort Erie Radio reported before the 2026 season that the charity program had raised nearly $18,000 over its first two years.

This summer’s 10th anniversary season opened June 25 with Fort Erie Tragically Hip tribute band The Trip and ran Thursday evenings at Crystal Beach Waterfront Park.

One market was cancelled in July after wildfire smoke pushed local air quality into the high-risk range.

The season concluded September 3 with Fort Erie band Rock Garden opening for Las Vegas-based U2 tribute act Arms of America. The final market of the season packed the park early in the evening before rain scattered part of the crowd.

The Kin Club says the 2026 season was the market’s best on record, though the release did not provide attendance or financial figures to support that comparison.

Under the new arrangement, the Crystal Beach Business Improvement Area will shift more of its attention and resources toward its other events, services and beautification projects.

The Kin Club says it will continue supporting the Business Improvement Area’s beautification work in Crystal Beach.

No financial terms of the transfer were disclosed.
