Green Acres Family Restaurant set to reopen after annual break

Beloved local eatery Green Acres Family Restaurant is set to reopen its doors on Wednesday, February 21, at 11:30 a.m. The restaurant closed for its annual break on December 17, 2023, and the news of its impending return has generated significant excitement in the community:

We will be reopening for the 2024 season on Wednesday, February 21st at 11:30am!
Looking forward to seeing you all again!

The announcement noted above, posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page, garnered hundreds of likes, shares, and comments within hours.

“Cannot wait! We miss our bi-weekly visit. So looking forward to the reopening,” said one Facebook user.

“Making a lunch date when you open,” said another.

Green Acres, owned and operated by the Coates family, has been a staple in Fort Erie since 1961, serving up classic Canadian-style cuisine for generations.

While the menu boasts a wide variety of options and daily specials, some of the most popular dishes include fish and chips, roast beef, and baby back ribs. The popularity of Green Acres is reflected in its online presence, boasting more than 900 Google reviews averaging an impressive 4.6 stars.

Shortly before Christmas each year, the Coates family closes its doors until sometime mid-February for some much needed rest.
