Fort Erie Legion to host Mother’s Day craft and vendor show

The Legion is offering to help those who haven’t quite decided on what to get Mom this Mother’s Day.

On Saturday, May 11, Legion Branch 71 (130 Garrison Rd.) will be hosting a Mother’s Day craft and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lesley Kinghorn, public relations officer for Branch 71, said the Legion hosts two markets a year.

For this Saturday’s market, Kinghorn expects a large turnout of vendors and crafters as well as a couple authors.

There will be hot dogs and French fries for lunch. Then from 5 to 8 p.m., the Legion will also have chicken wings on the menu.

There will be a band, Dirt Road, providing musical entertainment.

Kinghorn said the Legion has been hosting craft and vendor fairs for at least 15 years now.

“We want to build it back up,” she said, noting the markets are bit slower post-COVID but said they are working to bring vendors back to their indoor events.

Kinghorn added that there would be a Mother’s Day basket draw as well.

The funds raised from this event will be put towards the general group coffers.

“The top priority is always veterans,” she said.
