‘Everyone is encouraged to wear white’: ACB to host second annual Bay Beach picnic

You’ll want to wear white for the second annual picnic at Bay Beach.

Re-branded for 2024 as the Soirée at Bay Beach, the event is being hosted by Advancing Crystal Beach (ACB), a non-profit charitable organization that works to enrich lives in the community.

Scott Boumeester, ACB board member, told Fort Erie Radio that last year’s event attracted around 75 people. This year, he said, they are hoping to have around 125 attendees including volunteers.

ACB was formed in 2015 and they work to provide value through events and fundraising. Examples include hosting a produce market in partnership with the United Way and other community events at Crystal Ridge Community Church located at 241 Elmwood Avenue.

Boumeester said this year’s picnic will have a more formal white theme with flowers and decorations to match.

“Everyone is encouraged to wear white,” he said, adding that this year’s event will deliver value far exceeding the $75 price of admission, including smooth jazz, raffle prizes, and one grand door prize.

The funds from the soirée will go towards a brand new ACB scholarship program, the details of which Boumeester expects to iron out in the coming days.

ACB has partnered with Cravings by Jayne, Katherine Ross, Between the Lines Winery, and the Green House Floral Bar to make the event extra special.

The soirée will take place September 7 at the Bay Beach pavilion (4185 Erie Rd.) from 4 to 7 p.m.
