EJ Freeland Community Centre pool closed due to mechanical issue

The swimming pool at the EJ Freeland Community Centre in Fort Erie is closed until further notice, effective earlier today, due to a mechanical issue. All swimming programs and lessons have been cancelled until further notice.

The Boys and Girls Club of Niagara (BGCN), which operates the centre, is working to repair the issue as quickly as possible. However, the duration of the closure is currently unknown.

Some Facebook users have speculated that the pool is having “pump problems”, although no one from BGCN has confirmed this to be the case. BGCN will provide official updates on the closure and subsequent reopening through its social media channels and its website at bgcn.ca.

Those registered for swimming lessons will be contacted directly to arrange a rescheduled lesson or a refund.
