E-bike driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Crystal Beach collision

The driver of an e-bike suffered serious injuries during a collision in Crystal Beach on Monday afternoon.
At about 4:30 p.m., Niagara Regional Police (NRP) were called to the area of Ridge Road South and Rebstock Road following reports of the incident.
The collision involved a 42-year-old male operating an e-bike and a 2021 grey Cadillac XT5 driven by a 61-year-old male.
As a result of the collision, the e-bike rider sustained serious injuries, says a news release from the NRP.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to a local hospital.
“Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to an out-of-region hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries,” says the NRP.
Detectives from the NRP’s collision reconstruction unit and members of the forensic services unit attended the scene to support the ongoing investigation.
