Motorcyclist killed in crash on Netherby Road Saturday

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Netherby Road in Fort Erie on the weekend.
On Saturday, shortly before 6 p.m., Niagara Regional Police (NRP), the Fort Erie Fire Department and Niagara Emergency Medical Service paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision on Netherby Road in the area between Point Abino Road North and Schaubel Road.
The initial investigation determined a grey passenger vehicle was travelling westbound on Netherby Road when a collision occurred with a black motorcycle travelling eastbound.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old Welland resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives assigned from the NRP’s collision reconstruction unit have assumed carriage of the investigation with support from forensic unit detectives, says a news release from police.
The collision remains under investigation.
