Work continues this week on QEW, 406 and 405

There will be a few instances of work on Niagara highways this week that Fort Erie commuters will need to contend with as people travel for the Canada Day holiday.

On the QEW, there will be recurring maintenance between the Peace Bridge and Victoria Avenue in Lincoln, according to Ontario 511, the province’s traffic information website.

There will be alternating lanes along this stretch of highway, according to information posted Sunday afternoon.

Work also continues between Victoria Avenue in Lincoln and Christie Street/Lakeview Avenue in Grimsby, causing two left lanes to be closed Toronto bound.

Recurring work between Mountain Road in Niagara Falls and Niagara Street in St. Catharines, Toronto bound, is also scheduled.

Work between Baker Road in Niagara Falls and Gilmore Road in Fort Erie will continue this week as well.

Highway 406 will also see work taking place between East Main Street in Welland and the QEW, both directions, says Ontario 511.

On Highway 405, there will be recurring construction between Stanley Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake and the QEW.
