All six episodes of ‘Cows Come Home’ now available to stream

The moment Lindsey Middleton and Katie Uhlmann have been waiting for has arrived.

The two co-creators of ‘Cows Come Home,’ a six-episode TV show with many scenes shot last fall in rural Ridgeway at Walnutknoll Dairy Farm, will see their project released to the world on Wednesday when it premieres on Bell Canada’s Fibe TV1.

All six episodes will be available for streaming.

“We’re excited to share it with everybody, and hopefully they like it,” Uhlmann said in an interview with Fort Erie Radio on Tuesday.

It’s taken about three years since the pair started working on the idea until it hits small screens this week.

“It’s been such an amazing journey and I think we’ve both learned so much,” said Uhlmann, who is from Trenton, Ont.

Middleton, who now lives in Toronto, grew up in Fort Erie and is a graduate of Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School. She developed her acting bug at a young age with Gypsy Theatre.

Middleton also participated in 4-H club in her younger years at the dairy farm on Ridgemount Road.

She plays the role of Tabby Acres, a young woman who returns to her hometown for a fresh start and finds herself immersed in the world of competitive cow showing.

To kick off the big premier day, Middleton and Uhlmann will be guests on CP24 Breakfast at 8:55 a.m. to promote the show.

They will get together and have a “casual” watch party, much more tamed down than the “bug hurrah” they had about a week ago at the Hot Docs Theatre in Toronto, a red carpet event attended by 600 people, said Uhlmann.

In the fall, they are planning a launch party in Fort Erie as well.

“We want to bring the show to all the folks that made it happen,” said Middleton.

One of the people who was instrumental in the show being made was Austin Miller, the owner of the dairy farm that the show was shot at for a number of days last year.

He died in March at age 82.

Middleton said it’s “heartbreaking” he’s not going to see the final product but that he’s “in every episode in his own way. “

The season is being dedicated to him, said Middleton.

“His support was just endless,” she added.

Uhlmann said it’s “never too early” to think ahead to season two, and that they will “see what the numbers look like” once the first season drops.
