Fort Erie seeks public input on future Thunder Bay Road park

The Town of Fort Erie is inviting residents to help shape a new neighbourhood park at 3440 Thunder Bay Road by providing feedback on the types of amenities and recreational features they would like to see included.

Located in the Ridgeway-Thunder Bay area, the 1.27-hectare site is bordered by a stormwater management pond and a residential area consisting of single-detached homes.

Community members can participate by completing a short online survey available through the Town’s public engagement platform, Let’s Talk Fort Erie.

The survey, which will remain open until May 20, is part of the Town’s preliminary round of community engagement and will inform the creation of multiple concept designs for the park.

Although public input on the park’s proposed name–Thunder Bay Road Park–closed on April 30, feedback on desired amenities remains a priority. Respondents are being asked to weigh in on a range of potential features, including playgrounds, courts for basketball and pickleball, open spaces, seating areas, and more.

Once the survey closes, Town staff will develop several concept designs based on the input received. These designs will be presented to the public later this year, with residents given an opportunity to vote on their preferred option before the project moves to the detailed design stage.

Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026, with completion expected by fall 2026.

A grand opening celebration will be held upon completion.
