Friends of the library raised close to $4K at recent used book sale

It’s important to have good friends, and that’s what the Fort Erie Public Library (FEPL) has.

A used book sale hosted by the Friends of the FEPL at the Crystal Ridge branch on April 26 raised just shy of $4,000, one of two events of its kind held each year.

Funds raised support each of FEPL’s three branches, said Lynne Kumagai, vice-president of the Friends of FEPL.

“This successful event was made possible by the incredible dedication of our volunteers,” Kumugai told Fort Erie Radio.

“For months, they worked tirelessly behind the scenes sorting and organizing books, and on the day of the sale, their commitment ensured everything ran smoothly,” she added, also noting how grateful the group is for everyone involved.

The next book sale will take place on October 4, and preparations are already underway.

Friends of the FEPL are currently accepting donations of gently used books, DVDs, and CDs.

Donations can be dropped off at the Crystal Ridge branch between 3 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.
