Meteors take 3-2 series lead after 1-0 win on Thursday night

The Fort Erie Meteors are one win away from advancing to the second round of the postseason.

The local Jr. B squad welcomed the Cambridge Redhawks to the Leisureplex Thursday night and narrowly escaped being behind for the first time in the series, winning the low-scoring battle 1-0.

Jack Ryan scored a powerplay goal in the first period, assisted by Kyle Adamo and Dylan Coers, the only offence from either team in the game.

Fort Erie now has a 3-2 lead in the series, after winning the first two and then losing games three and four, then facing off on Thursday.

Game six will be played Saturday night in Cambridge.

If necessary, game seven will take place Tuesday in Fort Erie.
