Police make two arrests in connection to fire at Ridgeway townhouses

Two people have been arrested in connection to a fire that destroyed three under-construction townhouses in a new Ridgeway subdivision near Prospect Point Road over the weekend.
On Monday, Niagara Regional Police (NRP) said two people seen exiting the area were apprehended.
The incident occurred Saturday just before 7 a.m.

A 36-year-old Fort Erie man is charged with break and enter to commit mischief over $5,000 and fail to comply with a probation order.
A 45-year-old St. Catharines man is charged with break and enter to commit mischief over $5,000.
Fort Erie Deputy Fire Chief Chris Smith said on Sunday there were no injuries and police reiterated this on Monday.
Smith also said damage was pegged at $1 million but the NRP is saying the preliminary estimate is at $400,000.
Both of the accused will appear in court on April 11.
Fort Erie Radio is waiting for the NRP to answer an inquiry as to why no arson charges were laid.
