Advancing Crystal Beach (ACB) is celebrating a successful 2024 but is also looking ahead to a busy year in 2025.
In an emailed statement wishing happy holidays to its members, supporters and others in the community, the non-profit organization highlighted some of its accomplishments, such as its second annual Soirée at Bay Beach, an event that raised funds for students from Crystal Beach who attend Greater Fort Erie Secondary School and Lakeshore Catholic High School.
“With fantastic food, music, and community spirit, it was truly an event to remember,” said Scott Boumeester on behalf of ACB’s board of directors.
The opening of the Crystal Beach Museum has allowed the group to honour and preserve the community’s rich history, and a grand opening is planned for May, said the statement.
Initiatives such as the March of Umbrellas “brought energy and engagement to the community, while also addressing key issues like food insecurity and the health of our seniors in Crystal Beach,” said Boumeester.
As 2024 comes to a close, ACB is reflecting on an “incredible year of growth and community connection.”
The group is “deeply grateful for the support of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, partners, and everyone who has contributed to making Crystal Beach a thriving and vibrant place to live.”
Looking ahead to 2025, ACB says it has exciting plans to expand its impact.
An initiative to engage and empower the next generation in Crystal Beach, expanded fitness programming for seniors, and enhanced food security are just three items on 2025’s schedule.
There will be new opportunities for volunteers as well as a 2025 membership drive.
“These achievements and plans are only possible through the collaboration and commitment of our community,” said Boumeester.
ACB gives special thanks to partners, including the Town of Fort Erie, United Way Niagara, New Horizons for Seniors, and the Crystal Beach BIA, who have worked to make these programs and events a reality, said the statement.
“Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Your support inspires us to continue building a stronger, more connected Crystal Beach in 2025 and beyond,” the group said.
