Daily commute affected this week by construction and investigations

More roadwork is planned across Niagara this week, affecting the daily commute.

Construction on the QEW between Gilmore Road in Fort Erie and Baker Road in Niagara Falls occurred for several weeks, but starting Tuesday, there will be one-lane closures in both directions due to a recurring engineering investigation, according to Ontario 511, the province’s website for traffic information.

There will also be a recurring engineering investigation on the QEW Fort Erie-bound off-ramp at the Bertie Street exit.

Recurring construction on the QEW between the Garden City Skyway and Highway 406 also continues in both directions.

Highway 3 in Fort Erie will see lane closures as work continues between Holloway Bay and Nigh roads.

There will be a one-lane westbound lane closure between Ellsworth and Laur roads.

Construction between Highway 405 and Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake will also continue.
